WHAT OUR CHAPTER DOES
Luncheon meetings with speakers (focusing on history, patriotism, and education)
- Semi-annual newsletter and regular emails
- Support of veterans by means of visits to assisted living facilities
- Donation of genealogical/historical books to the DAR Library in Washington DC
- Participation in local parades, Memorial Day, and July 4th events
- Having a presence at Dover Days and the 18th Century Market in downtown Dover
- Maintain flags on the graves of local Revolutionary War soldiers
- Online book discussions on non-fiction books focusing in particular on the Revolutionary War
- Celebration of Constitution Week in September (exhibits at local library and proclamations for this week)
- Presentation of the DAR Good Citizens Award to local high school students
- Presentation of the JROTC award to four (4) local high school students
- Community service projects during the month of October for DAR Day of Service including beach clean up, sapling plantings, clean ups at the historic John Dickinson Plantation, plantings for the DAR Garden on Legislative Mall and other projects
